To launch our 2017 Campaign, United Good Neighbors (UGN) has committed $170,000 in funding to 20 local nonprofits.  The funding will support programs that address essential health and human service needs to members of the community here in Jefferson County.

UGN is able to grant $170,000 in funding  thanks to the generosity of community members, business and workplace employees during the Fall UGN Campaign.

To ensure fair allocation of the $170,000 in funding, a small group of community members –  including representatives from the business community, schools, nonprofits and the County – were were brought together in March of this year to make recommendations on how the funds would be allocated.

I was struck by the high quality of the grant requests we received and the challenge that represented to the Allocations Committee.  I great appreciated our many service providers for the work they do and regret that we were unable to fully fund all of the requests.  I hope our community will continue to provide for these necessary and worthy services.”  David Engle, UGN Allocations Committee Member.
